Brown Dog Gallery Art Retreat - Jane Rothenberg, Jewelry, Necklaces and Earrings

Date:
Jul 30, 2011 - Jul 31, 2011

Beginning Jewelry Making-Beading and Design will give you the basic techniques for creating your own unique and beautiful jewelry.

We will discuss and be shown various techniques and then practice them. You will learn about gemstones, metal wire, beads, tools and other beading materials. We'll also discuss the elements of design.

We will make at least 2 finished necklaces and 2 pair of earrings using various techniques.

Jane's interest in making jewelry began with her love and fascination with the complex and colorful mineral kingdom.

The infinite forms, colors and textures of the amazing mineral kingdom are what inspire and excite me about jewelry making. The possibilites are limitless. I think wearing and working with gemstones is a wonderful way to connect with the natural marvels of the earth.

Classes run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 30th and 31st.

This event is part of the Brown Dog Gallery's Summer Art Retreats. Call 530-964-2662 for details and reservations.
