Location

McCloud is located in the southeastern corner of Siskiyou County, which is located in inland Northern California, adjacent to the Oregon border. Mt. Shasta towers to the north of town. McCloud is located off highway 89, just 12 miles east of the Interstate 5. The nearest large cities are Redding, California (about 53 miles to the south) and Medford, Oregon (about 87 miles to the north).

GET HERE BY CAR

From Southbound I-5, take Exit 736 just south of the city of Mt. Shasta at SR 89. From Northbound I-5, take exit 736 - SR 89, about six miles north of Dunsmuir. Travel about 10 miles east on SR 89 to McCloud.

From Reno/Susanville area, take US 395 N (CA 36 W), turn right on CA 44 W, turn right onto CA 89 N/Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. Travel 68 miles to McCloud.

SR 89 is a popular segment of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway passing through McCloud and the waterfall region of the Lassen and Shasta Trinity Forests. Beyond McCloud, the Volcanic Scenic Byway connects visitors to the nearby McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park and Lassen Volcanic National Park.

The Redding Municipal Airport (53 miles south on I-5) accommodates United Shuttle commuter airline service connecting with major airlines in San Francisco for points beyond.  

The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport (87 miles north on I-5) accommodates international and domestic airline service via Alaska Airlines, Delta, United and Allegiant.
