Our MISSION

The McCloud Chamber of Commerce envisions McCloud as a historically preserved, well-rounded, and friendly community which offers a wide range of services to its families and visitors. The Chamber focuses on the promotion and development of financially strong, viable businesses within the region while enhancing the community lifestyle.

To support this vision, the McCloud Chamber is building a large and enthusiastic membership, enhancing existing businesses, encouraging new opportunities and promoting tourism. The Chamber’s goals are to promote development of major businesses, provide personnel and entrepreneurial business development tools, access to critical training and aggressive promotion of the region.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Shari, a native of Santa Fe, NM, met her husband Jeff in El Paso, TX. They eventually relocated to Seattle, WA, and then to Redding, CA, where they raised two children, started three businesses, and became actively involved in their community. Jeff, a McCloud High School alumnus who moved to McCloud in 1978, and Shari who was first introduced to McCloud in 1990, made  numerous family trips between Redding and McCloud for over 35 years. They developed a deep love for the area, leading to their permanent move in the fall of 2022. Shari is passionate about her faith, family, friends, and the arts. She brings business management & event planning skills with her, along with a desire to bring businesses together. She truly loves this community.

DARLENE MATHIS
DIRECTOR

Darlene was a Project Manager at the City of Sacramento’s Architecture Division for 18 years, managing commercial Capital Improvement Projects. I managed many of the City’s Capital Improvement Projects over the last 18 years. But was ready for a change and wanted time to raise our son, Tanner. This project has taken a lot of time, but at least I’m always available at home for Tanner. I did the majority of the drawings for the construction permits, including the interiors. Hopefully, now that the design and construction are complete, it’ll slow down. Right….

JULIE PONZINI
DIRECTOR

Julie and her husband Dan are the owners of the McCloud River Bed & Breakfast. In 1989, she began my 32-year career in the sheet metal industry. Twenty years ago, she opened a bakery named Sugarcastles. For the past 10 years, she was deeply involved with St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cotati where she was the cook and caterer for all events taking place in the parish. Moving to McCloud has been a dream of Dan and Julie and she feels honored to be on the Board where she can share her talents, skills, and experience.
